Disappearance of nuclear magicity towards drip-line

Creators

  • 1. Department of Physics, G.M. College, Sambalpur (India)

Description

It is well known that, the ground state properties of nuclei lying in the β-stable valley, exhibit characteristic irregularities in the midst of smooth behaviour at specific neutron and/or proton numbers, otherwise known as magic numbers. An attempt has been made to get the answer using the mass predictions of the recently improved Infinite Nuclear Matter (INM)
