Investigation of structure and local radiation centers of glass of Al2O3 - SiO2 system by spectroscopic methods
Description
The structure is studied of glasses of the system Al2O3 - SiO2 and the radiation centres induced in them by gamma - and X-radiations at 77 and 300 deg K. It is shown that on γ-irradiation of the investigated glasses they acquire E'1 centres characteristic of quartz glasses, and holes on oxygen ligands of four-coordination Al. On X-irradiation, in addition to the indicated centres, for the first time a centre is observed inducing a broad axially symmetric line with gsub(tr) = 1.96, gsub(long) = 1.88 in the EPR spectrum, which is correlated with electrons captured in the field of Al3+, cations
