Comparison of two methods of free thyroxine index determination, using fluorescence polarization and radioimmunology

Description
Analytical and clinical performances of two methods for the indirect determination of serum free thyroxine based on very different physical principles, fluorescence polarization (FPIA) and radioimmunoassay (RIA) were compared. For the 210 patients investigated including euthyroid, hyperthyroid and hypothyroid patients, a good correlation was observed between the results obtained with RIA and FPIA

On a compare les performances analytiques et cliniques de deux methodologies d'evaluation indirecte de la thyroxinemie libre basees sur des principles physiques de detection tres differents: la polarisation de fluorescence (FPIA) et la radioimmunologie (RIA). Pour l'ensemble des 210 patients etudies (euthyroidiens, hyperthyroidiens, hypothyroidiens), il existe une tres bonne correlation entre les resultats obtenus par RIA et FPIAAdditional details
