Paget's disease and bone scan : A case report

Description

Paget's disease is a metabolic disorder affecting the bones. It causes a malfunction in the normal process of bone remodeling. The disease has an extra ordinary geographical distribution, most common in the United Kingdom and Australia, relatively rare in some parts of North America and almost unknown in Africa, India and China. A 71 years old Indian male was investigated for complaint of pain in the left knee of one month duration. Clinical, radiological and scintigraphic examinations lead to the diagnosis of Paget's disease. (author)
