Optimization of industrial instrumentation and systems using radioisotopes through simulations with MCNP computer code

Description
The paper reports the results of numerical calculations obtained with the MCNP code for the simulation of a PGNAA system for the analysis of coal and raw materials of the cement industry and a gamma surface gauge for density measurements of soils. The results show that the MCNP code can be used in the design, optimisation and calibration of nuclear gauges. (author). 3 refs, 13 figs, 1 tab
