Babcock-Brown Boveri pressurised water reactors

Description
Pressurized water reactors supplied by Babcock-Brown Boveri Reaktor GmbH (BBR) for the generation of electric power are fully engineered, reliable plants. Three such units are in operation in the Federal Republic of Germany. BBR have been awarded a contract for the supply of a 1,300-MWe plant. The article describes the operating principle and the advantages of pressurized water reactors, and the experience gained so far. (orig.)

Druckwasserreaktoren, wie sie die Babcock-Brown Boveri Reaktor GmbH (BBR) fuer die Erzeugung elektrischer Energie liefert, sind ausgereifte, zuverlaessig arbeitende Anlagen. Das in Bau befindliche 1.300-MW-Kernkraftwerk Muehlheim-Kaerlich erhaelt einen BBR-Druckwasserreaktor. Der Beitrag erlaeutert die Erfahrungen, die Arbeitsweise und die Vorteile von Druckwasserreaktoren. (orig.)Additional details
