Sintering kinetics of powder compacts of ferrite-garnets Y3Fe5O12 and Y2.25Gd0.75Fe5O12

Description

The method of dilatometry has been used to study sintering of compacts from poly- and monodispersed powders of ferrite-garnets within themperature range of 1570-1770 K. Temperature dependences of parameters of the Ivensen phenomenological equation which describes sintering of ferrites-garnets are analyzed. It is established that different mechanisms of the mass transfer may be simultaneously realized during sintering. Ratios of the efficient diffusion coefficients which determine sintering of ferrites-garnets, these mechanisms being realized, are obtained
