The N=90 isotones in the IBA-model
Description
N=90 isotones have been studied to investigate the dependence of the parameters in the IBA model on proton number. The spectra show a rapid change from a SU(3) (axial rotor) like spectrum for 150Nd, 152Sm and 154Gd to an O(6) (γ-unstable) spectrum for 158Er. Besides excitation energies B(E2) values have been calculated. The increase when going from 150Nd to 154Gd is due to the increase in the number of bosons and the decrease from 154Gd to 158Er comes from the change in structure (from SU(3) to 0(6)). (C.F.)
