e+e- spontaneous creation in inhomogeneous magnetic

Description
The solution of the Dirac equation for the electron in the inhomogeneous magnetic field H2 = H sech2(ay) is discussed and it is shown that spontaneous electron-positron pair creation is possible, provided certain relations between the strength of the field, the inhomogeneity parameter and momenta are satisfied. The realisation of this possibility in the case of a neutron star is examined. (author)
