Microplasma discharges exited by a plasma flow on constructional metals

Description

Results are presented from experimental and theoretical studies of microplasma discharges excited by a plasma flow on constructional metals partially covered with a dielectric (oxide) film. Tribological tests of metal samples treated by microplasma discharges show a significant increase in their wear resistance due to the formation of a strong microrelief on the sample surface. (paper)
