Observations concerning experimental parameters in microwave-induced reactions and their applications to PET radiochemistry

Description

A microwave device with a variable cavity geometry has been constructed and used to study the effects of microwave treatment on reactions used to synthesize radiopharmaceuticals. The microwave frequency used in the device was 2,450 MHz. Variables such as radiation intensity and exposure time have been investigated for boiling of common organic solvents. The effects of microwave radiation on the reaction of fluorine-18 with 4-nitro-4'-fluorobenzophenone was studied
