Description
The proton escape widths of the Gamow-Teller resonance and the isobaric analog state in 208Bi are calculated by solving the charge-exchange continuum Tamm-Dancoff equations. For the Gamow-Teller resonance the spreading contribution to the width is taken into account by the imaginary part of the optical potential. The calculated escape widths are in agreement with measurements obtained from a recent 208Pb(3He,tp)208Bi experiment. ((orig.))
