Combined system for propulsion and guidance of magnetically suspended vehicles

  • 1. Hitachi Ltd., Ibaraki (Japan). Hitachi Research Lab.

Description

A combined system for propulsion and guidance of magnetically suspended vehicles is proposed, with theory and calculation results. In this system, a track coil arranged in the null-flux configuration is used as an LSM armature coil. This system is economical and reliable because the same track coil is utilized both for propulsion and for guidance, and a guidance force is maintained even if power failure occurs. (author)
