Objectives of the NEXT program are to identify optimum components of a survey, provide for uniform data collection, provide a system for assigning program priorities, and provide a system for measuring program effectiveness. Studies on new methods of organ dose estimation are discussed and the problem of credibility of NEXT data is considered
