Magnetic susceptibility of TaCy in ordered and disordered states
Description
Neutron diffraction studies and magnetic subsceptibility measurements are carried out on tantalum carbide samples prepared by solid phase sintering and subjected to heat treatment under different conditions. On the basis of investigation results it is stated that in the TaC0.83-TaC0.89 composition range ordered phase formation takes place. Presence of temperature hysteresis on χ(T) dependences testifies to the first-kind transition and small rate of carbon atoms diffusion at transition temperature. 6 refs
