Nuclear power plant network security analysis on attack tree

  • 1. State Nuclear Security Technology Center, Beijing (China)

Description

China's nuclear power plants generally adopt digital control systems that may reduce the possibility of human error and reduce the workload of operators, but it also brings new risks to the operation of nuclear power plants. Attack tree analysis allows threats against system security to be modelled concisely by graphical format, the establishment of an attack tree enables network attack simulation, network attack detection and prevention, network security assessment, and network security exercises. It will provide important help for designers, security personnel, and operation and maintenance personnel. By analyzing the vulnerability of nuclear power plants and combining the traditional attack tree analysis ideas, establishing a nuclear power plant network security attack tree can help to comprehensively improve the network security level of nuclear power plants.
