Description

The present paper reports a new dosimetry technique for liquid sludge irradiators using sand collected from the sludge for liquid sludge irradiators. The dose vs TL response of 370 degC TL peak in HF-treated sand sample was found to be linear in the studied dose range of 1 to 5 kGy and hence can be used to estimate absorbed dose by sludge for its disinfection. The emission spectra of the peak and geological accrued dose in the sample are also reported. (author). 2 refs., 3 figs
