Roentgenostructural study of a representative isostructural series of pivaloyltrifluoacetates of heavy earths (Gd-Lu) and sodium - NaEr(C8H10O2F3)4: a=13.114(1), c=21.004(9) A, V=3128A, Z=3, sp.gr P31 is series contain [Ln(pta)4]- and complex anion Na+ cation. Impact of Na cation on ion stereochemistry is established. Interrelation of the structure bond with the volatility of the compound is discussed
