In order to obtain a good knowledge of crack growth acoustic emission signals, Framatome has implemented a R and D program. The main objectives were to develop a wave pattern recognition method which could select growing crack signals from interference signals. A reliable industrial application to survey PWR critical zones with a fast response is intended

Abstract (French)

Afin d'avoir une bonne connaissance des signaux d'emission acoustique de fissuration FRAMATOME a entrepris un programme de R et D. Les principaux objectifs sont de developper une methode de reconnaissance de forme appliquee a des signaux de fissuration dans de l'acier inoxydable, qui selectionnerait les signaux de fissuration parmi des signaux d'interference. Une application est envisagee pour la surveillance de zones critiques de REP avec une reponse rapide
