Nuclear structure experiments with gamma sphere and new generation detectors

  • 1. Lawrence Berkeley Lab., CA (United States). Nuclear Science Division

Description

The new large gamma-ray detector arrays are discussed, with special emphasis on Gamma sphere located at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Some comparison with other detectors systems in Europe is made. A new concept for the next generation of these large arrays, called Greta, is also described. In addition some of the exciting results on nuclear structure coming from these arrays is reported. (author)
