Description
This paper details the decommissioning of the B building of a VNIINM research institute in which the main research base for the creation of the radiochemical industry of the USSR was performed. The decommissioning project of the B building was developed in 2010, it included the following stages of work: -) preparatory stage (implemented in 2013), -) main stage (implemented in 2013-2014), -) final stage (implemented in 2015). Licensing application for decommissioning of the B building was successfully approved in 2011-2013. The equipment, premises and engineering systems of the building were contaminated. Radiation contaminated research equipment in the building was represented by laboratory gloveboxes of various brands (285 pieces.), box chains, heavy boxes with hinged protection systems (37 pieces.), various technological installations (20 pcs.). In total, 675 pieces of equipment were dismantled. Key difficulties were for the dismantling of special communication systems - special ventilation and sewerage. The building structures of the B building, including the foundations, were completely dismantled.
