Powder characterization using methods for the determination of partial average size

Description
Applications, limitations and also the optimization of the experimental steps of the sedimentation methods are studied. Further, these results are compared with the ones obtained by two other methods: permeability and gaseous adsorption. As an example, the dependence of the sinterability of uranium dioxide powders on the average particle size is shown. (Author)

Estudam-se as aplicacoes, limitacoes e os parametros importantes na execucao do ensaio de determinacao de analise granulometrica pela balanca de sedimentacao sartorius. Os resultados obtidos sao comparados com os resultados encontrados nos metodos de adsorcao gasosa e permeabilidade gasosa. Como exemplo de aplicacao desses metodos, faz-se um estudo da influencia do tamanho medio de particulas na sinterabilidade de pos de dioxido de uranio. (C.S.)Additional details
