Zone of the radiation effects in Pb1-xSnxSe(x=0.34) alloy

Description
Influence of electron irradiation (Tir∼300 K, E=6 MeV, φ≤5.4x1017 cm-2) followed by the hydrostatic compression (p≤12 kbar) on the electrical and physical properties of p-Pb1-xSnxSe (x=0.34) alloy is studied. Under pressure, slow increase of the vacancy concentration is found to be connected with overflow of the electrons from the valence band to that of radiation defects induced by electron irradiation. The obtained experimental results are used to determine the energy state of the radiation-defect band in Pb1-xSnxSe (x=0.34) alloy and to construct the diagram of its migration with respect to the energy-band edges at point L when changing stannum content in the alloy.
