Optimization designing of transformations by genetic algorithm

Description

Transformers have found widespread use in power grids to reduce losses and improve voltage profile. Due to high cost, its optimum design has received attention in literature. Based on genetic algorithm, a new approach is proposed in this paper in which a transformer may be optimally designed while various constraints are met. The capabilities of the approach is examined and verified for a typical distribution transformer
