Description

The cross sections of Wsup(+-) and Z0 at high transverse momentum and collider energies are more than 2 orders of magnitude smaller than the QCD cross sections. However, since weak interactions and their interference with strong interactions violate parity and charge conjugation, special types of measurements allow to find signals of Wsup(+-) and Z0 also in their large hadronic decay modes. For this purpose spin-spin asymmetries, charge-charge asymmetries and the polarization of outgoing hadrons can be used. Signals in p-barp of measurable size are predicted: in pp these signals are rather weak. Their precise measurement would allow an independent determination of sin2THETAsub(w) or of polarized sea quark distributions in polarized hadrons. In associated production of two vector bosons the angular distribution - again esp. in p-barp - has a characteristic shape; this allows the detection of W as well as a test of the gauge nature of the interaction -and possibly the measurement of the quark charge.
