Composite construction with steel cells - a new principle of constructing containments
Description
Composite construction with steel cells is a new method developed in the USSR and GDR. It will be applied in constructing the containments of WWER-1000 type reactors in the GDR. Basic problems related to construction and calculation are discussed. A review is given of the research in this area. As compared to pre-stressed concrete containments there will be advantages with regard to nuclear safety, construction expresses and quality
