Gas in the new French energy model

The French parliament work on the text of the energy transition programming bill will start in Fall 2014 and follows the debate which took place during the environmental conference of September 2012. This bill, which was first introduced by the French Ministry of Energy in June 2014, aims at establishing the energy policy of France for the coming decades. This dossier makes a review of the first draft of the energy transition programming bill, 'a new French energy model', and presents the opinions expressed by the different organisations and bodies which were consulted prior to the parliamentary work. The contribution of the French Gas Association (AFG) to the energy transition reflection is reprinted. It supplies some complements about the natural gas assets in meeting the issues. In this dossier, M. Guilbaud, head of Medef (the main organization of French bosses), J. Aubert National Assembly Deputy for the Vaucluse, and R.
