Automatic method of radiometric measurement of flow intensity

An automatic method of the flow intensity measurement is presented. The method is based on the point injection of a tracer and on the measurement of radioactivity in the water sample taken out from a cross-section where complete mixing of the river flow is reached. Injection is done by means of an automatic injector. In the measuring profile, a water pump is installed. Water is pumped through container with centrally inserted detector connected to measuring set. Measurements carried out by this method proved its applicability and good correlation with the results of measurements by means of the current meter (differences of 6,2%). (Z.M.)
