Fluorescence emission enhancement with metal salts in the solid-state via dipole-ion interactions

Description
Solid-state fluorescence emission in materials is essential for light-emitting diodes. Generally, J-aggregate shows enhanced emission while H-aggregate shows quenching in the solid state. Few supramolecular approaches such as generating hydrogen bonds were developed to disturb the π and other supramolecular interactions in solid-state H-aggregates. Here, we are reporting a p-toulenesulfonyl hydrazide derivative of tri(biphenyl-4-yl) amine (TBA-THZ) in the solid state which showed negligible emission while grinding with M+X- (M+ = alkali and alkali earth metal) salts showed enhanced emission
