Diffusion coatings on the molybdenum alloy in liquid metal solutions

Description

The possibility of obtaining diffusion coatings from a number of metals (Si, Pt, Cr, Ti, Ni, W, V, Nb, Co) on the molybdenum alloy TsM6 with the aid of isothermal transfer of the diffusant in molten calcium has been investigated, as well as the composition, structure, and protective properties of the coatings in an oxidizing medium at a temperature of 800-1000 deg C. It is shown that in all the investigated systems the transfer of the coating material is coupled with the transfer of the coating metal impurities to the TsM6 alloy. As a result the structure of the coatings is a solid solution based on the diffusant with a different content of the carbide phase. It is established that the highest heat resistance is shown by Pt, which is followed by coatings of Ti, Si, Ni and V. The kinetic dependences of the oxidation process are obtained
