Road transport: what are the energy alternatives in the medium and long term? energy consumption, local pollution, global pollution associated with contrasted transport supply and demand in 2020 and 2060
Description
The demand from the road transport sector should increase significantly in the future. The consequences of this change both in terms of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions cannot be supported in the long term if nothing is done. These restrictions mean that nowadays many energy alternatives to the eternal pairing of petroleum fuel and internal combustion engines are envisaged. The analysis proposed aims to evaluate the long-term consequences of these different energy futures (hybrid vehicles, hydrogen and fuel cell, unconventional petrol, bio-fuels and synthetic fuels) based on a scenario of changes in demand in the transport sector up to 2060.
