High level gamma-ray dosimetry with fluorescent glass dosimeters
Description
A responsive characteristic and readout method is presented for measurement of high doses. When high dose glass is measured by spectrophotometer, the absorptivity is a good lineal function of absorbed doses in the range of 1.84 x 10-2.09 x 104 Gy. A light-absorbing film is placed over the measured glass for measuring high dose with a fluorescent glass reader. The radiophotoluminesence intensity shows a sublineal function at the absorbed dose of 1.84 x 10 Gy and decreases with increasing absorbed dose over 4.43 x 104 Gy. This method is simple and easy to apply. Without any treatment, the glass can be measured directly by the reader for high dose
