Calculation of the flow rate of neutrons delayed by fission neutron for a sheath failure controller

Description

This report describes the calculation of a sheath failure controller by detection of delayed neutrons, for various fuels, in the case of cycling or non-cycling of the coolant fluid (during a liner failure, some fission products which emit neutrons, are carried away by the core coolant fluid, and the measurement of the neutron flow rate emitted by a sampled fluid fraction allows the failure to be detected). The author defines the installation sensitivity, and describes the calculation of the number of delayed neutrons emitted per second in the sensor assembly volume in both cases (with or without cycling of the coolant fluid)

Abstract (French)

(auteur)
