Electrochemical behaviour of γ-irradiated TiO2 in Ag/Ag+ concentration cell
Description
TiO2 heated at 540degC was irradiated by γ-rays to different doses and EMF developed due to the addition of irradiated TiO2 in the concentration cell Ag/Ag+ was measured. Predominant sites of electronation from Ag electrode to nonirradiated TiO2 were blocked during irradiation and therefore less EMF observed with irradiated TiO2 than with nonirradiated oxide. ΔE, 0.38 eV was found for the recovery of sites in thermal annealing. (author). 6 refs. 2 figures
