Assessment of groundwater sustainability in middle Ganga plains using environmental isotopic tracers
Creators
- 1. Isotope and Radiation Application Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)
Description
Indo-Gangetic -aquifer system provides water supplies to most populous regions of Indian sub-continent, however precise knowledge on the sources and dynamics of groundwater is still missing. Environmental isotopes (2H, 18O, 13C, 3H and 14C) and hydrochemical modeling tools have been applied in this study to investigate key hydrogeological aspects of the multi-tiered aquifers belonging to Middle Gangetic Plains (MGP)
