Diffusion of carbon in niobium
- 1. AN Kazakhskoj SSR, Alma-Ata. Inst. Yadernoj Fiziki
Description
Results of experimental investigation of 14C isotope diffusion into polycrystalline niobium in the 450-900 deg C range are presented. The problem of realized type of a diffUsion source during sample annealing in vapours of BaCO3 salt is considered. The concentration profile of carbon interstitials was determined by radiometric method in combination with electrolytic removal of thin iayers from a sample. The temperature dependence of diffusion coefficient was found to be: D=(5+-5)x10-7xexp (24500+-3700)/RT] cm2/S
