Nuclear charge distribution in the spontaneous fission of 252Cf (Preprint No. NR-6)

Description
The fractional cumulative yields of sup(140,141 and 142)Ba in the spontaneous fission of 252Cf have been determined using fast radiochemical separation and gamma spectrometry. Values for the most probable charge (zsub(p)) and width of the distribution (σ) were obtained. It is found that a δ width parameter σ=0.60 ± 0.02 represents the charge distribution systematics in the spontaneous fission of 252Cf. (author). 7 refs
