Creators
Description
A first article outlines that radioactive waste storage is a major challenge for the current and future generations, and evokes the expertise of the IRSN with respect to this issue (important relevant laws are indicated). A second article briefly describes how the IRSN intervenes in the management and the risk analysis of the different types of nuclear and mining wastes (low and medium activity and short life, low activity and long life, medium and high activity and long life wastes). A third article presents and comments researches undertaken in the field of deep geological storage of high activity and long life wastes. The nuclear waste storage practices of Belgium and Sweden are briefly presented
