Fast pulsed reactor kinetics
Description
Solutions to the simple transient response equation of reactor kinetics are completely inadequate to predict behavior of a fast burst reactor in the presence of external neutron reflection. The one-point kinetics model has been extended to adequately include neutron reflection along with effects of elastic waves in the reactor fuel excited by short duration bursts. Some recent data obtained with Godiva IV are included to demonstrate the validity of this approach. (auth.)
