Non-perturbative 2D quantum gravity and the generalized KdV hierarchy
Description
We apply the theory of generalized KdV hierarchy to obtain the universal equations of a new class of two dimensional quantum gravity coupled to matter. We give an explicit expression of one of these equations which is identified with that of a known critical point of the two matrix model. We conjecture that these equations correspond to the multicritical points of the multimatrix model. (orig.)
