Case report on the analysis of discordant scintigraphic results after scanning autonomous thyroid adenoma with 131iodine and sup(99m)technetium-pertechnetate
Description
Delineating autonomous thyroid adenoma from nodular hyperplasia may be a problem even after diagnostic suppression. For correct interpretation of scintigraphic results consideration of tracer kinetics and time delay between tracer application and scanning is an essential and guarantees safe diagnostic classification despite discordant scintigraphic results scanning with TcPT and iodine tracers. Die Abgrenzung autonomer Schilddruesenadenome von nodulaerer Hyperplasie kann auch nach diagnostischer Schilddruesensuppression gelegentlich Schwierigkeiten bereiten. Korrekte Interpretation der Szintigramme erfordert die Beruecksichtigung der Tracer-Kinetik und des zeitlichen Abstandes zwischen Tracerapplikation und Szintigrammschreibung und gewaehrleistet sichere diagnostische Zuordnung trotz diskrepanter szintigraphischer Befunde bei der Verwendung von TcPT und Jodisotopen zur Szintigraphie.
