Estimation of thermal power of AHWR for dynamic correction of ion chamber signals
- 1. Reactor Control Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)
Description
The paper presents a method for estimation of reactor thermal power and correction of neutronic signal for use in Reactor Regulating System (RRS) of Advanced Heavy Water Reactor (AHWR). Sources of errors in thermal power and limitations of different signals in estimation of thermal power have been considered and probable error in analysis have been determined. Salient features of RRS have also been discussed. It has been demonstrated that the signal obtained by correcting the neutronic signal with thermal power has good accuracy and transient response characteristics. (author)
