Description

The method for simulating the dismantling process of the Korea Research Reactor 1 and 2 (KRR-1 and 2) was conceptually investigated. The dismantling process to be simulated in the computer graphic environment was chosen by the consideration of the importance of the dismantling process. The components to be dismantled are largely reactor tank, reactor internals, instrument/equipment or supporter around the reactor, piping, concrete walls and graphic blocks. The plan to realized those dismantling objects, tools and equipment into 3-D graphical elements was induced out. The scheme to embody the work process dynamically in the computer graphic space by using those elements was examined. In the present study, the dismantling process on the Rotary Specimen Rack (RSR), which is predicted to be radio-activated to a higher level than any other component in the reactor, is firstly taken into account to be 3-D graphically simulated. Therefore, the RSR, the required equipment for de-assembling of the RSR and the environment around the RSR are three dimensionally realized in the graphic cyber space. And the dismantling or cutting process of the RSR by the equipment is dynamically simulated. The simulation includes the dynamic cross-section/clipping and the interference checking among various working activities so that the work procedure can be inspected for process optimization. Eventually, the simulation file is composed to have the modifying or updating function on the simulated process without the corresponding software
