Origin of the K- and L- X-ray satellites of silver

Description

The origin of the high- and low- frequency satellites of silver has been explained in the K- and L- regions, on the basis of Hayasi's theory of quasi-stationary states. The calculated wavelengths are in good agreement with the experimental values and have been compared with those calculated on the basis of multiple ionization theory. Reflecting planes corresponding to the extended X-ray absorption fine structure maxima associated with the K, L1, L2 and L3 edges have also been identified. (author)
