Ionometric determination of tantalum in loparite concentrate

Description
Ionometric express determination of tantalum in loparite niobium containing concentrate with complex chemical composition is developed. Tantalum is determined in the form of hexafluorotantalate-ions using tantalum fluoride electrode. Autoclave decomposition of loparite concentrate is carried out in hydrofluoric acid at 160-180 deg C during 30 min. Ta ionometric determination is carried out using method of single standard additions. The Nb-Ti ratio in initial sample being 1:4.6, tantalum may be determined in their presence up to the molar ratio Ta:Nb:Ti=1:31:500, that corresponds to a minimum of Ta concentration 10-5M
