Cosmic ray intensity variations

Description

Progress is reported in the understanding of transient production of relativistic cosmic rays in the solar system and transient reduction of the galactic cosmic ray intensity. Intensity profiles for McMurdo and the South Pole predicted on the basis of the observed shock parameters and a superposed epoch analysis of the nucleonic intensity at McMurdo are critically analyzed.
