Resistance of titanium alloys to hot cracking in welding

Description
The results of investigations into resistance of the VT6 titanium alloy to hot cracks formation, the latter being alloyed with aluminium and vanadium, are given. The given alloy is shown to possess a capability to hot cracks formation on the level of a low-carbon steel. By fractographic investigations it is established that cracks are of the intergranular character
