Solid-state laser generating pulses with a flat part

  • 1. AN SSSR, Tomsk. Inst. Sil'notochnoj Ehlektroniki

Description

Solid-state ruby laser, generating a flat part pulses of duration > 120 ns and energy of approximately 0.5 J, has been described. Formation of the flat part of pulse is realized due to the feedback negative circuit in resonator, in which modulator of quality factor and photoelements are used. It is shown that pulse shape can be approximated to rectangular one with the increase of passive losses in the resonator
