Power scaling of narrow-linewidth mid-IR spherical microlasers
- 1. Center for High Technology Materials at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM 87106 (United States)
Description
We provide experimental demonstrations on power scaling of the mid-IR Er:ZBLAN microlaser by three orders of magnitude while maintaining the linewidth below 50 pm. In the reported laser source an optimized Er:ZBLAN spherical microlaser is efficiently coupled to a home-made high-gain Er-Pr:ZBLAN fiber amplifier to generate near 1 mW at 2.71 µm. (letter)
