Stopping power calculation of rubidium and strontium for protons
Description
We have evaluated the stopping cross-section (SCS) and the energy-loss straggling of rubidium and strontium targets, for a wide range of proton energies. The calculations are done in the framework of the dielectric formalism, using a combination of Mermin-type energy-loss functions to describe the behaviour of the outer electrons of the target, while the inner-shell electrons are described through their generalized oscillator strengths. Our calculated SCSs agree with the experimental data better than other theoretical and interpolated results, in a wide range of proton energies
